DB Liquids! Part one!

First, I’d like to apologize to all four of you that are reading this.  I’ve wanted to do this review for almost a month now, but it’s been a hectic month full of things like our computer quitting life, losing my job, and focusing on my health by embarking on a Whole 30 challenge.  I also wanted to go to Vape NY, my local brick & mortar store, and pick up fresh atomizers for dripping because I feel that you get all of the flavor when you drip.

Also, I’d like to add that I love dripping.  I really do.  You can really experience the complexities of a well formulated juice when you drip.  Dripping just provides something that tanks do not.  Tanks are great, I have my favorites, but there’s always a little something missing.  Dripping is not convenient for on the go, but for lounging around the house purposes it’s my favorite.

Speaking of well formulated juice, today I am finally reviewing the wonderful DB Liquids.  I challenged myself when I ordered because there are so many juices out there, I had been almost exclusively vaping sweet, fruity flavors.  So I boldly ordered some juices I didn’t know if I would like.  I couldn’t decide, so I opted for one of the sampler packs.  The flavors I chose were Green Chai, Banana Pudding, Peach Tea, Black Tea, Mango Dragon Madness, and was graciously given a 3 ml sample of Zensation Tea.  They are all a 50/50 PG/VG blend, and all of them are 12 mg.

I must say right off the bat that I am super impressed by DB Liquids processing and shipping.  TWO DAYS!  TWO DAYS!  TWO DAYS!  This is lightning fast in vaper time.  I got my order in two days.  It shipped from Alabama and arrived safe and sound, lovingly packaged at my door in NYC in 48 hours.  The package was sent first class USPS and cost me a whopping two dollars and seven cents.  My samples were bubble wrapped and tucked into a box, and arrived in 6 ML squeeze bottles.  Getting the juice out is easy, as it is a softer but durable plastic.  The labels are easy to read and clearly marked with the PG/VG content, the nicotine level, and the name of the flavor.

5/5 for packaging and shipping.

Onto the good stuff!  I am doing the flavor reviews in two parts, because I have so many.  Six is a lot for me!  I will do three now.

Green Chai!

I was nervous to head to the Tea and Tobacco flavor section, to be honest.  I am nervous to try new things sometimes because I know what I like and that’s just how I am with everything.  Coffee.  Brand of bacon.  Toothpaste.  I know what I like.  But I challenged myself!  (Quick aside; at a local meet up recently, a fellow vaper had a massive bottle of StrawberRY4 and it smelled absolutely divine.  I will be trying it!)

This Green Chai is an astonishingly robust vape.  I have not had anything like it, so I do not have a basis of comparison.  I was immediately impressed with this when I dripped some right out of the package.  Now, almost a month later, I am dripping it again, and the richness and complexity of the juice has really come through.  On the inhale, there is a faint but delectable sweetness.  I stress faint.  This is not a sweet vape though it will absolutely appeal to people seeking a sweeter tea flavor.  As the vapor hits your tongue, you will get a true cinnamon taste, like the cinnamon stick you might swirl in a cup of cocoa.  It’s a spicy vape, a hearty mix of all things chai; anise, cardamom, and I even detect a wee bit of a fennel, akin to the fennel seeds you are offered after you feast on Chana Masala at an Indian restaurant.  It’s a rather lovely vape, unlike anything I’ve tried before.  On the exhale, you get a nice vegetal finish.  It’s crisp, and it reminds me of being on top of Mt. Si in Washington state.  Herby, spicy, sweet.  The liquid produces and abundance of vapor.  If you have not tried a tea flavor yet, I highly recommend this.  If you’re a tea enthusiast, to the point of owning a tea flavor wheel, you’ll find this to be a lovely compliment to a cup of pu’er.  A vaping delicacy, but definitely in the running as an all-day vape.  To be noted: If you’re going to drip this, dedicate an atomizer to it unless you are a mistress or master of cleaning your attys!  The flavor lingers, I consider this to be a good thing.

Black Tea!

I opened the link to this and noticed something that I did not notice last time, which is probably because I wasn’t paying attention.  DB Liquids gives you some really awesome options!  You can double the flavor, or add menthol, spicy, sweet, sour, cold, or bitter to your juice order.  That’s excellent!  I think this Black Tea would be amazing with a “cold” touch to it.

I’m from above the Mason-Dixon line, so I probably shouldn’t pretend I am any kind of authority on sweet tea, but this juice slightly reminds me of sweet tea.  Sweet tea isn’t something we do well here in the Northeast.  So when I get the opportunity to venture into the south, I eagerly await the first opportunity I get to sip on a bucket sized amount of sweet tea.  It’s a guilty pleasure of mine.

The inhale is faintly sweet, similar to the Green Chai.  It is grassy and slightly cool on the exhale, reminiscent of backyard loungin’ on a hot August night.  This is botanic and honeyed, but lacking the tongue numbing saccharine taste that other sweet juices carry.  It gives me a very strange olfactory memory of the sensation you get before you bite into a butter lettuce salad – just fresh and crisp.  It’s the most curious of the tea flavors I’ve tried so far, and I love it.  This is definitely an all-day vape.  It will satiate your palate and calm your sweet tooth, and hopefully flood your mind with memories of adventurous summer nights.

Banana Pudding!

Ok, this juice is very straight forward.  Pleasantly sweet on the inhale, I don’t feel the need for any additionally sweetness added to it.  It has the taste of a banana that is perfectly ripe, tickled with a few brown spots on the peel but not overly soft yet.  It’s an honest banana flavor, which is impressive because I’ve found that banana flavored things often produce a sort of rotten nasally sensation, like what it’s like to be behind a sanitation truck in NYC during a heatwave.  This is the opposite of that.  It is a fresh but slightly syrupy vape with an amazing scent that lingers in the air.  The exhale is wonderful, bringing you very hinted notes of cream, caramel, and vanilla.  Thick delicious clouds of vapor will wrap themselves around you.  I highly recommend this as a dessert vape, and an all-day vape for those of you with a sweet tooth.

Again, all of these juices are a 50/50 blend of PG/VG.  They are excellent for dripping and should not gunk up a tank.  If you are using a top coil tank, I do recommend that you occasionally tilt and swirl your PV as to make sure the coils are thoroughly saturated.

5/5 for product consistency and ease of use, 5/5 for vape flavor and clouds.

I really love DB Liquids.  Everything from ordering to vaping has been without hassle.  I am fairly certain that they’re new, but I can see them competing with some vendors who are already established as premium juice suppliers.  I hope that you enjoyed this review and I hope that you’ll try some soon!

FYI, DB Liquids is also on reddit and you can find them here.  There are deals posted and other reviews as well.  Go forth and order yourself some of the liquids I’ve reviewed thus far!

5/5 for website and service.
